Class Format

8-week studio with drafting, rehearsals and peer critique.
Last session “Speak & Get Feedback” which would serve as mock presentation for showcase day.

Showcase Day (7th March 2026): polished 4 to 5-minute persuasive pitch for family audience.

Transformation Indicators

By week 4, youth has 20 domain terms used accurately, 2 rhetorical devices. By week 8 has 40 terms; 4 rhetorical devices used purposefully; Pace and dynamics (140-160 WPM for persuasive talk; slows to 120 – WPM on dense points. Week 8 has 140-170 WPM overall; includes 2-3 sec strategic pause after a key line). Structure and evidence (week 4: hook-thesis-preview; clear use of transitions; week 8, full use with signposts, cites 3+ sources verbally; 1 personal story with lesson). Delivery control (week 4 60% eye contact with audience; no single note glance and by week 8, 70% eye contact, gesture/stance rubric 3-4.5/5).

Speech design: audience analysis, goal setting and outline (hook-body-close).
Persuasion & storytelling: examples, data, anecdotes and rhetorical devices.
Visuals & data: clean slides, charts and clear commentary.
Delivery mastery: stance, gestures, pace, emphasis and memorability.
Handling pressure: rehearsal loops, notes strategy and Q&A tactics.
Formats: TED-style talk, persuasive pitch, panel/interview basics.
